WHEN IS OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY?

IS GETTING A 'DOMINION' STATUS EQUIVALENT TO GETTING INDEPENDENCE?

India was granted a dominion status on August 15, 1947. According to Balfour Declaration of 1926 ‘dominions’ is defined as autonomous communities within the British Empire but united by a common allegiance to the Crown. So, by the definition, India was an autonomous community “within the British Empire”. So, why do we celebrate August 15th as our Independence Day?

Many people in India still believe that a Dominion status is equivalent to an absolute independent status. All those who so believe should go back to elementary school to re-learn their English. According to the Oxford dictionary, a ‘dominion’ is a country of the British Commonwealth having its own government. This same mistaken belief was also held by all Congress leaders in those days who openly proclaimed that there was no difference between dominion status and independence and accepted the dominion status in their all party conference of November 1929. This same confusion was furthered by the approval of dominion status in the Lahore Conference of 1929. But laterSubhash Chandra Bose proposed thatindependence meant complete dissolution of any relationship with the British; for this he was labeled a terrorist and foreign agent. Only on January 26th 1950 when India became a republic was the word Dominionreplaced by Republic.
When Britain gave independence to America 170 years before India, the resolution relating to declaring independence read “the united colonies of America are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved”. Now look at the wording in the Indian Independence Act which was accepted by the British Parliament on July 18th 1947; “to make provision for the setting up in India of two independent dominions, to substitute other provisions of the government of India Act 1945 which apply outside those dominions and to provide for other matters consequential on or connected with the setting up of those dominions.”
There are two things very clear from the above statement:
  1. The British did not want our allegiance to be completely dissolved from Great Britain and;
  2. The British wanted to replace some provisions of the dominion status of India and Pakistan which were applicable to other dominion of British Crown, namely Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.

WHAT??

India was called “Dominion of India” from 1947 to 1950. We never taught in our history books that India had an official King in George VI post independence and this type of government system that could be called ‘constitutional monarchy’.
The monarchy of India was a system in which a hereditary monarch was the sovereign of India from 1947 to 1950. India shared the same person as it’s sovereign as the United Kingdom and the other Dominions in the British Commonwealth of Nations. The monarch’s constitutional roles were mostly carried out by the governor-general. The royal succession was governed by the ‘Act of Settlement 1701’.

In 1948 Mountbatten left his position by appointing C. Rajagopalachari. Even till 1950, then Prime Minister of India was only the fourth in command. By January 26th, 1950 we wrote our own Constitution, and abolished the monarchy. 
So, effectively India’s Independence Day was January 26, 1950, and not August 15, 1947.

THIS COUNTRY WORTHY OF NETAJI?

WE DON'T EVEN HAVE HIS BODY. AND NOW NO FILES ON THE INCIDENT.

The recent move to declassify the Netaji files made some shuddering revelations. Turns out the Netaji files are destroyed. Now it is still not processed by the minds of innumerable intellectuals that how is this possible? And for another group, which I am glad to be part of is absolutely angry on this. 

HE RAISED VOICE FOR HIS COUNTRY. WE CAN'T EVEN FOR JUSTICE?

Netaji's grand nephew, CHANDRA KUMAR BOSE is an active accuser in this. Accusing the Congress government to have strategically destroying evidence of any suspicious conspiracy related to Netaji. Now it's fair to wonder what actually turned out.

There's a affidavit filed from the PMO's office during the INDIRA GANDHI govt. Stating that Netaji files along with several other not so important files are being destroyed just because of the fact that they are copies of other documents

BUT then the question is raised.  If they were copies, where are the original files?
These led to deeper investigations by innumerable activists and the Bose family. 
And the facts which surfaced has made my blood boil. 

There were only 3 commissions set up for investigation of this matter. Out of them the most recent one- MUKHERJEE COMMISSION (the only commission under the supreme court) visited Taiwan. And the Taiwan and American office stated in writting that neither there was a plane crash nor anyone admitted for serious burn injuries on 18th August 1945. So why were we made to believe and taught this lie?

A statement under oath by the then stenographer of Nehru was a staggering revelation. He recalled that NETAJI ACTUALLY WENT TO STALIN FOR ASYLUM. BECAUSE THE ALIES HAD WON AND JAPAN LOST TO AMERICANS. BUT STALIN CAPTURED HIM AND WROTE A LETTER TO NEHRU FOR INSTRUCTIONS. NEHRU IN HIS REPLY, STATED NETAJI AS A WAR-CRIMINAL. He was sent to labour camps and died somewhat in 1952. Though records have also indicated netaji coming back from Russia alive and living as the famous gumnami baba. There were letters found whose handwriting​ matched with netaji's, pictures of his family members, letters from his niece along with many important personalities, a set of binoculars from Nazi Germany, tea set from Japan and countless literature books. These explain the government keeping a close watch on Netaji's family and it turns out there was a whole RAW cell for this particular job.

AND THERE ARE ADEQUATE REASONS FOR NEHRU TO DO THIS. NETAJI HAD FORMED THE INA WHICH WAS TO TAKE OVER INDIA, HAD THE BRITISHERS DECIDED TO FIGHT. THE INDIAN ARMY AND THE INDIAN REPUBLIC WAS GIVEN RECOGNITION BY 9 SOVEREIGN COUNTRIES WITH UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT. WITH THIS HE WAS THE CLEAR CHOICE FOR THE LEADERSHIP. AND EVEN GANDHI HAD PRAISED NETAJI ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS. 

The INA had got donations from Indian residents in the friendly countries. This treasure is still unknown.

The INA jawaans were still tried for treason. Even after independence, they were looked upon as prisoners of war. They were never recruited into the national army after independence.

When we give triumphant examples of our army's bravery. It's a pity the soldiers of the very first regiment of the republic of INDIA had this fate.

That in fact is a pity. And I am sorry NETAJI.

26TH JANUARY: JUST ABOUT THE MORNING?

PATRIOT IN THE MORNING. 

  • Get up in the morning.
  • Watch the parade (optional)
  • Spend the rest of the day like another Sunday.
But anyone dares to nudge that morning patriot, he is the long lost oppressive Britisher to you. And there's INQUILAB.
And that's on full display with all the TIRANGAS fluttering on the bikes, auto-rickshaws,cars, cycles ,etc.

With all this making a point, we need to ask this first to ourselves and then to fellow countrymen- " are we trying to make the country better than what it was yesterday?"
The point being, it's not another Sunday. There are many 26 Januarys due. But it's you who can make the next one better. All the Patriots in the house have this opportunity. A true patriot once was a simple man, a common man. He grew to be a nationalist, he grew to be angry and he grew to change the country. 

Indulge in any activity that you think empowers some section of society. Collect help and be a part of their good day. Teach in a few deprived schools, organise broom cleaning on a road, get out in the evening to collect TIRANGAS littering the road. Try to make someone happy on that day. And let them bless not you, but INDIA. 

We do need a revolution. Not the sort of crap politics demands. It must be the revolution of HUMANITY. A great nation is built when the people are happy, a nation where the poor is not wealthy, but equal to the rich in all participation and opportunity.

This republic day, make a day for yourself to be proud of. Let there be a true celebration of the republic. Mark the day as a day for the country.

DOES MAHARASHTRA NEED SHIVAJI SMARAK? YES.

SHIVAJI SMARAK: AN UNAFFORDABLE LUXURY?


The recent jal poojan at the Arabian sea led to various pseudo-nationalists to raise their voice against it. The argument was that in a country which has such a huge number of people living in absolute poverty must not try to flaunt it. 

The total cost of this project will be a blow of about ₹3600 cr. But it's not just a simple statue. It has a solar panel as the sword. There are hydel power, wind power generators to be installed along with it. So it's actually a glamourous energy plant. 

There's a call to make India rise globally. But how long before it is do you think before taj Mahal grows boring? To keep the stature of INDIA as a great nation as it is, we need to make it look amazing too.

There are various YouTube channels which are let's put it straight anti- everything. They just try to raise points which make the viewers awe and try to feel cool. Much like the Indian media sometimes (Humour intended). 

The poverty issue was well raised by the opposition but seriously. Any government doesn't want people to be poor. Unless it's the Congress which keeps people poor so as to have their rural votebank intact. Why don't they raise their voices against the money lenders who are the direct abusers. the high interest rates on loanes is the sole cause of farmer suicides. but some political parties try to get the government take the blame. 

It's for us, if we pass judgement to other fellow citizens and are actually interested, to know the truth about something. Because if a person is going to get influenced by you, you have a responsibility to make sure that the facts he comes to know are correct and true. 
Even the poor of Maharashtra is a Maratha. And he bows down to Shivaji.

IS SOCIAL MEDIA THE NEW COMPLAINT BOX?

ARMY COMPLAINS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

The recent trend of posting videos to complain about the conditions of the bases by the jawaans that have burned the internet is widely talked about in the country. But is this what we want? 

Ofcourse we want the soldiers to speak up but is this the way the most disciplined organisation of India raises their voice? 
This may sound empowering but is actually a unconscious step towards undisciplined functioning of the guard forces. 

As pointed out by MAJOR GAURAV ARYA, 
It must be verified whether the soldier has filed any complaints within the guidelines. Hypothetically speaking, if troop movement, convoy deployment, strategic locations etc are disclosed and leaked, it will be a big blow to the country. It's absolutely simple just like this video was shot. 

The INDIAN ARMY has taken absolutely necessary steps to counter this wildfire. Necessary actions shoube taken against the violators. 

The organisation must have the troops empowered but strict so as to see that the code remains intact. 
The people of the country however, have a greater role. That is not to assume something on the basis of first information. 

No matter how many MEDIA groups try to fuel up their TRPs, if you are an individual who can make a difference do try to get involved and explain it to fellow countrymen.
